What You'll Need

  • An amber or cobalt roller bottle (these bottles provide the best protection against UV rays that can damage your essential oils)

  • Essential oils of your choice. You can use a pre-made blend like our headache support, or combine oils to create your own customized blend. Our favoites are lavender, peppermint, and eucalyptus.

  • A carrier oil such as jojoba or fractionated coconut oil

Step 1: Sanitize

Before you begin, it's important to clean and sanitize your roller bottle and any other equipment you will be using. This will ensure that the roller bottle is free of any contaminants or impurities that could potentially harm your skin.

Step 2: Fill The Bottle With Carrier Oil

Once your bottle is clean and sanitized, you can start filling. Start by filling the bottle about 90% of the way with your carrier oil. This carrier oil will serve as the base for your essential oil blend and will help dilute the essential oils so that they are safe for use on the skin. If the bottle you are using has a small opening, you may want to consider using an essential oil funnel to make the process easier.

Step 3: Add Essential Oils

Next, it's time to add your essential oils. The typical ratio is around 20-30 drops of essential oil per 10ml of carrier oil. However, you can adjust the ratio to your personal preference. Some popular essential oils that can be used in roller bottles include lavender, peppermint, and eucalyptus. To see our full line of certified organic essential oils check out our shop page.

Note: To avoid potential skin irritation, make sure that the oils you are using are safe for topical application.

Step 4: Mix

Once you've added your essential oils, gently roll the bottle between your hands to mix the oils together. This will help ensure that the oils are evenly distributed throughout the roller bottle.

Step 5: Apply

Finally, apply the roller bottle to the skin as desired. You can use your roller bottle for a variety of purposes, such as reducing stress, soothing sore muscles, and even as a natural perfume.

It's important to note that essential oils are highly concentrated plant extracts and should be used with caution. If you have any medical conditions or are pregnant or breast feeding, please consult a health professional before using any essential oils.
